that's one way to identify your apartment block , I suppose.
Cheb was a funny little place. No tourists to speak of? The walk to our accommodation was interesting. We arrived from the station and walked through the "new" town. There were a lot of people hanging around. This was a poor town with a lot of unemployed. We had booked one night only. They were trying to improve the facilities of the town and one could see there was work going on . Fairly recently they had closed off traffic to the old town and made a mall as well. All down the mall they had a dateline. Started from 2011 until the year 1061. It was very interesting to read the events that had occurred over the years to make this town what it is now. The timeline stretched at least 500 meters..probably more. We stayed in the old town at the Hotel Monika..interesting for one night.
The mall was alive with displays of flowers. On the sunny day we had, it was a pleasure to walk around town.
Very historical town with remnants of the very early wooden buildings..burnt down and rebuilt.
We were all alone for dinner outside our hotel..nearly . I really wanted to take a photo of a Russian woman who was done up to the nines with nowhere to go. It was a chilly night and she was wearing very little. Eventually she was given a blanket to cover her " suntanned " legs. Lots of people love the tanning bed way too much. The passing parade of women was interesting and kept the waiters happy.
Interesting town.
